Chairman and President,
Campus Crusade for Christ International
Unanimously selected by the Board of
Directors to succeed Bill Bright, Stephen B.
Douglass was installed as the president of Campus Crusade for Christ, International in July 2001. Prior to becoming president of the organization, Douglass had already served 33 years with Campus Crusade for Christ in several capacities, including executive vice president and director of U.S. ministries.
"I count it a privilege to see such a strong, devoted man respond to the challenge of leading Campus Crusade for Christ into the next millennium," said Bill Bright, in 2000 when he announced Douglass as his successor.
"My wife, Vonette, and I are fully confident that Steve, with whom we have worked for more than 30 years, knows and understands our movement as well as anybody, and better than most. He genuinely seeks to honor our Lord in his actions and decisions."
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, Douglass went on to receive his Masters degree in business administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Douglass is the author or co-author of several books including
Managing Yourself (Here’s Life Publications, 1981),
How to Achieve Your Potential and Enjoy Life
(Thomas Nelson, 1987), and Enjoying Your Walk With God
(Here’s Life Publications, 1989).
Douglass also currently serves as chairman of the board of directors for Campus Crusade for Christ; and serves on the board of directors for International Leadership University; Mission America; and Vision Orlando. He previously served on the boards of directors for Mission Aviation Fellowship and Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability
(ECFA).
Along with his wife Judy, Steve Douglass resides in Orlando. They have three children: Debbie, Michelle, and Josh.
